A retired army officer returns to save Pakistan from a massive terrorist attack in this slick, box office record-breaking action movie. No-nonsense former Pakistan Army major Mujtaba (Shaan Shahid) took early retirement. Now he's been summoned back to lead a high-stakes counter-terrorism operation. It's organised by police officer Ehtesham (Hamza Abbasi) and his intelligence agent sister Javeria (Aisha Khan). Faced with a threat that dwarfs all previous terrorist attacks in the country, they've brought together police, military and the secret service for an unprecedented collaboration. The enemy is the Pakistan Taliban, who are bent on total destruction of the country and are funded by RAW agents Ramal (Shamoon Abbasi) and Laxmi (Meesha Shafi). Now the highest grossing film of all time in Pakistan, the unashamedly patriotic 'Waar' has also proved controversial in the region. Its storyline is inspired in part by real events such as the 2009 Police Academy attack in Lahore.
